Training Institutes

Empowering those who serve the Deaf Catholic community.

The Deaf Catholic Training Institutes of DCYIA

Are dedicated to equipping interpreters and pastoral agents with the formation, tools, and resources needed to serve the Deaf Catholic community. Rooted in a commitment to inclusion and faith, these institutes support the mission of ensuring that every Deaf person has full access to the life of the Church—whether directly through sign language or with the support of trained interpreters.

The mission of our Deaf Catholic Training Institutes of the Deaf Youth Catholic Initiative of the Americas (DCYIA) is to provide interpreters and Pastoral Agents with training, tools, and resources they need to provide Deaf Catholic people with full access to the Catholic Church.

It is the vision of the Deaf Catholic Training Institutes DCYIA that all Deaf Catholic people, through their Baptismal calling, have full access to the Catholic Church, whether directly in sign language or through a sign language interpreter.

At DCYIA, we believe that true inclusion is built through education and specialized formation. Our Training Institutes are dedicated to breaking communication barriers and fostering leadership within the Church.
