Pilgrimages & Congresses
Walking with Faith,
Bridging Silence for
a Brighter Future.
Through powerful pilgrimages to sacred spaces like Rome and international congresses focused on healing and justice, DCYIA creates transformative experiences. These events bring together the Deaf community and church leaders from the Americas and beyond, fostering deep spiritual connection, advocating for equity, and strengthening the bonds of our global family.
2018 Deaf Catholic Pilgrimage: ROME
Our historic foundation marked the beginning of DCYIA, bringing together Deaf pilgrims from the Americas. It was a deeply spiritual week in the heart of Rome, including a profound audience with Pope Francis. For the first time, our community truly 'saw' the Holy Father's words, fulfilling lifelong dreams and strengthening the bond of our international Catholic Deaf family.
2025 Pilgrimage to the Jubilee: ROME 'Pilgrims of Hope'
A milestone of grace where we joined the universal Church to walk as 'Pilgrims of Hope.' We renewed our faith crossing the Holy Door and shared an unforgettable encounter with Pope Francis. Each step strengthened our belonging to the universal body of Christ, creating lasting spiritual memories and reinforcing our community bond in the eternal city in his presence.
2026 International Congress on Silence & Justice: PANAMA
Join us in Panama from July 8th-11th, 2026, to write a courageous new chapter for Central America. In collaboration with Ceprome, we are organizing a gathering focused on 'Facing the Path with Valor: Changing the Culture of Abuse.' Dedicated to active listening, dialogue, and pastoral healing, this congress is a vital step toward creating a safer, more conscious Church.
